Integrity
Did I ever tell you about the time I took a handful of high schoolers to go jump out of a plane?
There was a lot of trust needed for this trip to even happen.
Personally for me to take that step off the plane my trust was in a large piece of fabric and that it was going to do what I’d been told it would do, being released at the right time to keep me from crashing into the ground.
I needed this large fabric to do what it was designed to do. If any part of the harness and shoot lacked some integrity, not holding up under the weight of its intended use, it would have been a disaster.
Intentionally creating your future, a vision, can be a lot like jumping out of a plane.
There’s the thrill and excitement leading up to actually doing the thing.
There’s uncertainty and doubt that quickly creeps in.
But once you jump, once you step into this vision you have for your life, success is hinging on you keeping your word to yourself, on your integrity.
Life isn’t slowing down, just like when you jump out of a plane there is nothing slowing you down keeping you from crashing until action is taken and the integrity of the shoot does what it’s supposed to do at the time it’s supposed to do it.
The future you desire is waiting for you to take action on what you say you’re going to do when you say you’re going to do them.
And just like when you go skydiving, until you’ve done the hours and training required, you jump with someone who is going to help guide you to a smooth landing. Which is part of what performance coaching can do for you as you’re pursuing a future you desire to live out.
