Be Aware of "SELF"

When does one actually become aware of self-interest?

Watching a child meander down the sidewalk of a playground without a cause or care in the world is a unique scene. They are focussed on who knows what their brain is conveying to themselves but then something triggers a moment where they realized that mom or dad are not close to them & they panic.

Is this a realization of harm or fear for one self?

Driving down a road and a police officer pulls up behind you there is almost always a “will I get pulled over?” Thought that runs through our understanding. Is this an awareness of self out of fear of being in the wrong?

When placing a value on your time for how it should be spent and the meeting goes long, traffic is more than normal or the kids are just too wild each person has an awarenesses of self that their time is not being used to the capacity it could be.

Is Self-interest rooted in self preservation or self governance? Is self interest purely motivated by greed or philanthropy? Is self interest bad or damaging to the world?

Is self interest a necessary evil communal living environments should work to negate from affecting their worldview?

Is self interest needed to root out greed & prideful peoples from communal living?

All of these thoughts have been lingering around me in the past few months as I am concerned and keenly aware that many problems that force families, neighborhoods, organizations & places of worship to hurt have a root in a person(s) self interest.

Hypocrisy has a name & selfishness is its fruit.

To be able to look beyond self & into the lives of others means

You matter more than I

You need more fame than me

You are worth the 1st chair

There is a weight & reality to selfishness. It shows our weakness & desires. It can be seen in our pride and grasping.

The reality of selfishness is destructive.

The reality of selfLESSness is destined to be a great way to live.
