SUCCESS = …..

“If my mind and my heart align at what I WANT to do then success follows, correct?”  

Not always.  

A major tension I have observed with leaders has been the perception that passion and drive will equal success.  However, success for some leaders is actually never defined.

To be able to acknowledge that their passions and drives equal success a leader has to define what they mean by success.  If success equals popularity and fortune then your passion and drive will be aimed in achieving those elements.  In turn tho not all passions and drive can monetize for people at the income they desire nor gain them the following they desire for popularity.

That is where a pain or loss comes in for people.  

However, if success is defined by fulfillment or altruism then your passions and drive can be pursued and you can enjoy life well.  Those passions and drives may not pay the bills but that doesn’t mean they are any less important to you as a leader.

This is where a gain and joy comes in for people

Leaders, be willing to think not just through your passions and drives but also what you want to see happen with those drives and passions.
