Energy

Are you more of a rower or sailor in life?

Let me explain:

When it comes to making things like your vision become your reality, we typically believe there are two types of people you have to become.

There are those who embody working hard, sweat, hustle, and endless grinding, let’s call them “rowers”

Then you have those where things flow naturally, like they’re traveling a path of least resistance, let’s call them “sailors”.

Neither are right or wrong. They’re just different approaches to utilizing energy getting momentum towards the things you want to see happen for your life a reality.

Sailors are great at “harnessing the wind” that is moving in the same direction they want to go. They look for doors that are opening and tap into energy that is already there.

But sometimes the “wind” just isn’t blowing, or blowing the direction you want to go.

Rowers don’t need an energy source because they are great at creating the energy to propel them in the right direction. They thrive on being the source of energy.

But at some point they burn out, no one can sustainably create that sort of momentum all the time (ask me how I know).

We all have a preference to which approach we prefer - catching momentum or creating momentum.

However, the only way to go as far and fast as possible is to become skilled at both.

As you’re pursuing a life you desire, does this season require you to be more of a sailor, catching momentum, or a rower, creating momentum?

Curious, do you tend to be more like a sailor or rower?
